It's dangerous to cycle in snow but
some does it. So how do you cycle in snow?

It's dangerous? Really?

If you use decent tyres made for winter cycling, and take it easy (go slow, no fast changing of direction), there's no problem. Just make sure to allow for some extra time to get to work.

The friction of snow is almost the same as the friction of sand. No, it's not dangerous. With ice you need some studded tires. There are some good tires from Schwalbe (Marathon Winter is my favorite) or Suomityres (ex. Nokian)

Few years ago I made a weekend trip on the sea. (Yes, it was frozen ;-) That was fun. No hills. Just the endless ice.

[edit]Just added a photo from that trip to my avatar. As you can see, the views were mostly gray ;-)[/edit]

As long as there is no ice you don´t need studed tyres as it´s been said before.

I found very useful having wider tyres and having lower pressure than usual.

I found some pics in my old gallery here:
http://jsjoberg.kapsi.fi/page3/page11/page11.html

There isn't that much to see, as the weather was all gray :-)

There are some other winter photos in that gallery. Like 2005 -> Jurmo. That was a nice trip. No bicycles though.

No maps. Sorry. They were taken in south west coast of Finland. If you are more interested, just let me know and I draw you some maps.

I think if it's heavy snow we should not go under it, many dangerous things.

Actually, cycling in Snow is often a very difficult. Does your leg strength can be bike wheel pedan for walking? I think we just took the bicycle to stop.
